SSRA Programs for March
Today (March 3) is “I Want You to be Happy Day”—an odd holiday that was likely created by a card-maker to boost sales, but a great way to start my blog post for all of the things we have going on in SSRA for March and April, practically guaranteed to make your inner writer squeal in happiness! Plus, I put in some additional dates you should know in March to impress your friends:
March 5: Today is Multiple Personality Day and I hope you have a great day. And so do I…
March 6, 10am in the Homosassa Library—This is our OPEN meeting for all members (PAN, PRO or I DUNNO) to discuss your writing questions. It’s an easy-going, relaxed setting without an agenda, so bring whatever you need help with, and your writer friends are there to help!
March 17: St. Patrick’s Day! Get your Green on and celebrate your Irish heritage (hey, everyone’s a little bit Irish on St. Patrick’s Day!!).
March 23: “Near Miss” Day commemorates our near miss on March 23, 1989 with a HUGE, Earth-ending asteroid that came within 500,000 miles of our planet. Since then, there have been several other near-misses. If you want to be really morbid (like me) check out NASA’s site on near misses and other asteroid watches here.
March 25: International Waffle Day (or as the Swedish would say: Våffeldagen) Celebrate by making some of your own (Swedish recipe here)!
March 29: Prod Your Muse MADNESS—Join us for this general SSRA meeting at 10am in the Homosassa library where our lovely VP, Jessica Nelson, will lead our group in an amazing discussion on techniques to eliminate writer’s block and keep those creative juices flowing! Executive board meeting to follow!
Have you registered yet for our fantastic April workshop, “Book Video Trailers, Branding, Blogging and Book Marketing” on April 26 at the Hampton Inn (8:15-12:30, with an SSRA author signing immediately to follow)? No? Better get a move on—we’re already 1/3 full!! The link to register is here: http://sunshinestateromanceauthors.com/event-items/author-platform-workshop/
Enjoy your March, Mer-folk (and beware the Ides of March!)…
