Due to some external issues beyond our control, we have had to make a change in March and April’s programs for SSRA. But…. Don’t fret! I think you’ll be thrilled at the changes we had to make, mainly because March and April will be FREE and you’re still getting 90% of the planned content.
You can thank us later. 😉
Here’s what we have planned for Saturday, March 23 (10-2pm):
- Query letters — how to write one and do’s and don’ts
- Synopsis — How to distill ALL your novel down to one page, single-spaced. (Breathe! You CAN do it!)
- Pitch — How to craft one and what you need to know before the summer conferences to make your pitch SING.
Because the workshop is now FREE for March, we will not be giving out any handouts. So, come with your laptop or a ready pen/notebook because if you want any notes, you’ll need to take them yourself. In fact, this will be our standard operation for pretty much the rest of the year to cut costs. I’m a big fan of kinesthetic learning, and writing what you
hear and see is proven to reinforce it, so it’s all good!
Due to time, we will not be hosting a pitch blitz during March’s meeting. Instead, we would like to encourage you to bring any query, synopsis, pitch to the April PRO-be meeting if you’d like some feedback. Also, if we have time after April’s monthly meeting, we can break out into groups to have you read/receive feedback on your query/synopsis/pitch.
I’ll update you on the rest of the year’s changes (there aren’t many, but there are a few adjustments to our schedule) when we’re at the March meeting.
